LISTED TIMES ARE GMT

A Word About Timings

All timings are listed in both Greenwich Mean Time and Eastern Daylight Time. North America and Europe are now on Daylight Time. For those of you who live in other time zones, you will need to make a calculation to derive the time of an event where you live. In North America subtract four (4) hours (from GMT) for the Eastern Time Zone, five (5) hours for the Central Time Zone, and six (6) hours for the Mountain Time Zone. Subtract seven (7) hours for the Pacific Time Zone and eight (8) hours for Alaska, and nine (9) hours for Hawaii. UK, Ireland and Portugal are one (1) hoour ahead of GMT. In most of the rest of Europe add two (2) hours (some Eastern European countries are three (3) hours ahead of GMT). In the Southern Hemisphere, Australia and New Zealand are on Standard Time (Australia is 10 hours ahead of GMT; New Zealand is 12 hours ahead of GMT).

For those in the United States, it is useful to keep in mind that broadcasts in the evening hours often appear in the NEXT day's listings because they occur in the small hours in GMT time, which is our primary reference in the following listings. For more information on time zone calculations, double click the time display on the lower right of your screen (if you are using a PC) to display the Time Zone tab, then click on the drop-down menu for a full list of time zones and their relationships to Greenwich Mean Time. You may also let the TIME CONVERTER do the calculations for you.

Ooperiõhtu: Igihaljas pühadehõnguline Võluflööt
Ainuke Metropolitani ooper sel hooajal Klassikaraadio eetris! Mozarti elutöö kokkuvõte on aegumatu meistriteos muinasjutuliste tegelaste ja liigutava muusikaga, mida armastavad igas eas kuulajad.
“Võluflööt” on erakordne lavateos, milles saavad kokku erinevate ooperiliikide omadused. Ühtlasi on see üks kolmest W. A. Mozarti (1756-1791) saksakeelsest ooperist. New Yorgi Metropolitani lavastuses lauldakse aga inglise keeles.

Paminana esineb sopran Hanna-Elizabeth Müller, koloratuursopranite tähtrollis on Kathryn Lewek Öökuningannana. Charles Castronovo kehastab muinasjutuprints Taminot, Nathan Gunn linnupüüdjat Papagenot, Alfred Walker Sprecherit ning Tobias Kehrer Sarastrot. Metropolitani Ooperi koori ja orkestrit juhatab Evan Rogister.

Stuudios on Anne Prommik. (3 hrs.)

Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, live

SPECIAL PROGRAM: Prom 49: Bach's St John Passion
Proms 2017 Repeats

John Butt and the Dunedin Concert with Nicholas Mulroy, Matthew Brook, Sophie Bevan, Tim Mead, Andrew Tortise and Konstantin Wolff in JS Bach's St John Passion from this year's BBC Proms.

Presented by Sara Mohr-Pietsch

Bach: St John Passion, BWV 245

Nicholas Mulroy, tenor (Evangelist)
Matthew Brook, bass (Jesus)
Sophie Bevan, soprano
Tim Mead, countertenor
Andrew Tortise, tenor
Konstantin Wolff, bass
Dunedin Consort
John Butt, conductor

A complete performance of Bach's St John Passion. 'More daring, forceful and poetic' than the St Matthew Passion, according to Schumann, this is a work of almost operatic vividness that brings both a humanity and a painful immediacy to the Passion narrative. Bach specialist John Butt and his Dunedin Consort make their Proms debut in a performance that offers the audience the chance to join in the chorale-singing, reflecting how the work might originally have been heard in a church setting. (2 hrs., 30 min.)
