LISTED TIMES ARE GMT

A Word About Timings

All timings are listed in both Greenwich Mean Time and Eastern Daylight Time. North America and Europe are now on Daylight Time. For those of you who live in other time zones, you will need to make a calculation to derive the time of an event where you live. In North America subtract four (4) hours (from GMT) for the Eastern Time Zone, five (5) hours for the Central Time Zone, and six (6) hours for the Mountain Time Zone. Subtract seven (7) hours for the Pacific Time Zone and eight (8) hours for Alaska, and nine (9) hours for Hawaii. UK, Ireland and Portugal add one (1) hour to GMT. In most of the rest of Europe add two (2) hour (some Eastern European countries are three (3) hours ahead of GMT). In the Southern Hemisphere, Australia and New Zealand are on Standard Time (Australia is 10 hours ahead of GMT; New Zealand is 12 hours ahead of GMT).

For those in the United States, it is useful to keep in mind that broadcasts in the evening hours often appear in the NEXT day's listings because they occur in the small hours in GMT time, which is our primary reference in the following listings. For more information on time zone calculations, double click the time display on the lower right of your screen (if you are using a PC) to display the Time Zone tab, then click on the drop-down menu for a full list of time zones and their relationships to Greenwich Mean Time. You may also let the TIME CONVERTER do the calculations for you.

Kontserdisaalis: Berliozi Reekviem Notre-Dame'i katedraalis
Kuidas kõlas Jumalaema kirikus, Pariisis, Hector Berliozi leinamissa 2014. aastal.

Tänavu 15. aprillil toimunud tulekahjus sai ränki kahjustusi Jumalaema kirik Pariisis. Suurõnnetus šokeeris ja kurvastas inimesi kogu maailmas. Katedraali ootavad ulatuslikud restaureerimistööd.

2014. aasta alguses tähistati katedraali tollase renoveerimise lõppu ja kiriku taasavamist külastajatele piduliku kontserdiga, kus kõlas Berliozi Reekviem. Katedraalis kõlanud kontsert omandab nüüd hoopis uue tähenduse. Radio France jagab seda helisalvestust kuulajatele kogu maailmas.

Hector Berliozi võimas leinamissa valmis 1837 prantsuse juulirevolutsiooni ohvrite mälestuseks. Sestpeale on teost tihti ettekantud Prantsusmaa erilistel kultuuri- ja ajaloosündmustel. Tänavu kõlas Reekviem kõikjal Euroopa kontserdisaalides seoses helilooja 200nda surma-aastapäevaga.

Berliozi hiiglasliku leinamissa esitavad tenor Andrew Staples, Notre-Dame'i katedraali lastekoor ja Radio France'i koor ja filharmooniaorkester ning Simon Bolivari nimeline sümfooniaorkester Venetsueelast. Dirigeerib Gustavo Dudamel.

Saate alguses saab kuulata Eesti Kunstiakadeemia arhitektuuri ja muinsuskaitsespetsialisti Anneli Randla kommentaari Notre-Dame'i katedraali ajaloost ja tähtsusest (Intervjuu saatest Delta 18. aprill, saatejuht Erle Loonurm). (3 hrs.)

SPECIAL PROGRAM: Konzertsaal

Schumann: 3. Klaviertrio g-Moll op. 110 (The Florestan Trio) (1 hr., 55min.)
